• Police confirmed multiple casualties and critical injuries following the incident. Authorities reported that two adults were killed and at least six others were wounded, with three victims listed in critical condition. Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd noted that some of the injured individuals were transported to the hospital via private vehicles before officers arrived at the scene.
• Investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence. Chief Redd stated that while the investigation is ongoing, authorities do not view the shooting as random or specifically targeted at the religious institution itself. He further remarked that it was too early to determine if the incident was related to gang activity.
• Multiple agencies are collaborating to identify the perpetrators. As of the latest reports, no suspects are in custody, and officials lack a detailed description of the shooter or their vehicle. To assist in the investigation, federal agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have joined local police efforts.
