Left Perspective
• The peace plan must not include territorial concessions. President Zelenskyy has asserted that Ukraine cannot cede any of its territory to Russia. He bases this stance on Ukrainian, international, and moral law, making territorial integrity a non-negotiable foundation for any peace agreement.
• The initial U.S.-brokered proposal was unacceptable. According to Zelenskyy, the original plan presented by U.S. envoys contained points he described as "obviously anti-Ukrainian." These elements were removed during talks in London, leading to the creation of a revised proposal that Ukraine is now preparing to present.
• Diplomatic efforts are occurring amidst severe military attacks. Ukraine is facing significant military challenges, including Russian advances, ammunition shortages, and manpower issues. Zelenskyy claimed that in the past week Russia launched over 1,600 drones, approximately 1,200 guided bombs, and nearly 70 missiles, resulting in rolling blackouts across the country.
