U.S. Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett is facing renewed scrutiny over her past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. The issue follows the release of documents that reportedly show she exchanged text messages with Epstein during a House hearing in February 2019, where she appeared to accept his suggestions for questions. In a speech defending Plaskett, Representative Jasmine Crockett alleged that campaign finance filings showed several prominent Republicans had accepted donations from "a Jeffrey Epstein." It was later reported that these donations came from different individuals with the same name, not the convicted sex offender, with one donation occurring after Epstein’s death. In a subsequent interview, Crockett said she was not attempting to mislead and had not claimed the donor was "that" Jeffrey Epstein, noting she had limited time to prepare her remarks.
